VitalConnex Inc. delivers innovative Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS) designed to keep the traveling public informed of the actual status of their mode of travel. Whether you rely on public transit or are the parent of a child waiting for the school bus, you require knowledge of the current status of your ride. We respect each visitor’s and consumer’s right to personal privacy. To that end, we collect and use information throughout our website only as disclosed in this Privacy Statement. This statement applies solely to information collected on this website and the VitalConnex services offered.
VitalConnex delivers its service via Text Messaging to mobile phones. To avoid spam and unsolicited notices, VitalConnex requires that consumers Opt-in to any VitalConnex mobile messaging service. You may also Opt-out of any VitalConnex mobile text messaging service at any time.
VitalConnex does not sell or disclose any personal information submitted by our customers or visitors to other persons, commercial or private entities We will not use any information given to us for purposes other than that for which it was requested.
Our General Policy Statement
Consumers must explicitly Opt-in via Web or mobile phone to the VitalConnex mobile messaging service. Consumers can easily, conveniently, and at anytime Opt-out of any VitalConnex mobile messaging service via web or mobile phone. No personal consumer information will be shared with a third-party. Information about consumers is maintained in secure systems.
Opt-in Methods
To participate in a VitalConnex service the consumer must explicitly Opt-in to that service. VitalConnex provides the following Opt-in options:
1. The consumer can send a text message to the appropriate VitalConnex short code associated with the service. 2. The consumer can register via the Internet by visiting the VitalConnex website on www.vitalconnex.com.
Regardless of the Opt-in method the consumer elects to use, VitalConnex requires the consumer’s mobile phone number be registered with the appropriate VitalConnex service. No other information is required other than the information gathered when the consumer creates a Personal Service Profile (see below).
Opt-out Methods
It is the policy of VitalConnex that a consumer has the right to Opt-out of a particular service. Two Opt-opt methods exist:
1. The consumer can send from their mobile phone an Opt-out message to the VitalConnex service. 2. The consumer can visit the VitalConnex Web site and select to discontinue the service.
When the consumer Opts-out of a service, he or she will no longer receive any messages from VitalConnex. To register with the service again the consumer can follow one of the Opt-in methods identified above. The consumer’s original Personal Service Profile is retained in case the consumer decides to re-register with the service.
Personal Service Profile
VitalConnex may require the consumer to create a Personal Service Profile to participate in a service. The Personal Service Profile lets the customer customize text messages and indicate the type of messages to receive from the VitalConnex service. VitalConnex does not gather personal information about the consumer or its family members, other than the cell phone number(s) designated to receive the message service and the consumer’s e-mail address.
VitalConnex may log IP addresses of visitors to analyze trends, administer the VitalConnex Web site, track visitor movements while visiting the Web site, and gather broad demographic information. VitalConnex will use this information internally for market analysis and research purposes only.
VitalConnex does not sell or disclose any personal information submitted by our customers or visitors to other persons, commercial or private entities. We will not use any information given to us for purposes other than what is requested.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file that a Web server automatically saves on your computer hard drive when you browse a Web site. Web servers can access previously stored cookies when you return to the Web site you’ve visited before. The cookie may contain user name, password, preferences, or other information. The cookie eliminates the need to re-enter information on a Web site you have previously visited. Cookies are convenient, however they may expose certain personal information to unauthorized users. Therefore, to protect the consumer’s privacy and prevent possible unauthorized access to your Personal Service Profile, the VitalConnex Web site does not store cookies on your computer nor does it use cookies.
Credit Card Information
VitalConnex Web site does not capture or store credit card information. Customers are automatically directed to a third party debit and credit card transaction processing firm who capture and process credit card information.
Traveller Information
Traveller Information gathered by the VitalConnex services include type of text message sent and received, bus stop and bus route descriptions, bus arrival times, GPS bus locations, and other information related to the bus and route. VitalConnex retains this information on file for internal analysis or marketing purposes only and we will not sell or disclose any Traveller Information to other persons, commercial or private entities.
Your Acceptance
By using the VitalConnex site and participating in one or more of our VitalConnex Services, you signify your understanding and acceptance of this Privacy Statement. VitalConnex will post changes to the Privacy Statement on www.vitalconnex.com. Your continued usage of the VitalConnex site and our services following the posting of additions and/or changes to this Privacy Statement means you accept those changes.
